We played all over the USA, Canada and Europe that Summer and Fall. In March 1996, we played Carnegie Hall, on a Bill with Levon and The Band. We continued to tour every two or three years. We recorded an album at Teegarden Studios in 2003, called "To Tulsa and Back." We promoted that album in 2004 on a National Tour, documented on DVD as "To Tulsa and Back: JJ Cale Tour 2004." One of the gigs on the tour and the DVD was Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival, where Eric played with us on stage.-Rock http://www.rockyfrisco.com/
Greetings once again...This is Hugh (UE) altho back in that day folks may have known me as Lou Lizardo. Anyway, first i'm giving thanks for those who have the energy to bring this energy into the present. The Open Door was quite the portal for me in that I was just coming up for one weekend back in 1983 to perform with John & Cathy Walker in a poetry/percussion group called the Honky Dreads. We hung out at he Danner Manor in a red school bus where I met Scotty (Sky Dawg) Houghton. Subsequently we had a show called the Doggie Lou Review, a variety joint which ran on Wednesday nights for I think about 6-10 weeks during that spring/ summer. We recently reconnected and laughed with amazement on how much experiences were packed into that little bit of time. Tulsa has been my home base since that weekend. The Open Door experience continued to "open" the creative side of me and those it was shared with. I will look to being there on Sunday after yoga class; which where all this has led. Hi there! This is Suzy Sharp. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. It will be great fun - I can't wait to catch up. Along that line I'm sure that if you remember me you also remember Les McClelland - ours was the first wedding held at the Open Door Dec 12, 1981. I'm sorry to report that Les died of lung cancer October 25, 2006. Although we were no longer married, Elizabeth (our daughter whose now 15) and I were very involved in his life and his death (along with his wife of course). Elizabeth is coming to the reunion and I know she would love to hear stories of her mom and dad so don't feel that you have to avoid talking about him/us just because he's gone. Thanks for this information. I will try to get there . . . and bring my children. Rachel is 15, Brendan is 11. I'm working as vicar of St. James' Episcopal in Eureka Springs, and trying my best to raise these two wonderful and very studious children. Trying also to grow a vegetable garden and walk places rather than drive and just live a little more mindfully while here on Earth. Trying (and always failing) to remember to care for other people in this world, instead of always thinking about myself.

I am trying to reschedule a trip to Beijing to attend the Open Door swingin wide; sounds like a slammer jammer to me.
I hope to be with you and catch up on a few millennium. I remember the sweetests sounds, craziest moods, wonderfullest folks, knockin nukes, arts as a way of life, principles in hearts and broadsides, organic gardening, coming of age, declaring ideals, whole tulsa's catalog of alternatives, sculpting, exploring, centering, massage as a touching experience, music as a revolution, sweat lodge as a prayer for healing, construction as an art form, sauna swooning, clothing as a recycled statement, broccoli cheese casserole, pot lucks, late night and all nights,
I thank God for those days and for y'all.
I am in DC working with tribes and international peace, recently returned from Israel, looking for green way for the world.

From: Dave Abraham To: artistswaygallery Cc: Scott ; Rehea Youde ; salliemaccorkle@okstate.edu; lyjacobs@cox.net; Kate Black ; johndan@aol.com; holderjack@msn.comSent: Sun, 2 Mar 2008 11:04 pmSubject: Open Door ReunionHi guys!  Patti and I are very excited* about the upcoming reunion and are planning to attend!  (*stoked, jazzed, pumped, thrilled, etc.) Not sure I can catch you up on everything we’ve been up to without lulling you to sleep, but I’ll mention a few highlights here: In the mid 80s, after a 4-year stint at Charlie Mitchell’s, the music gigs started gradually giving way to PTA activities, soccer, and working with the youth groups at our local UU churches in Tulsa. Patti’s private practice thrived, and she also made a difference at agencies like DVIS and Call Rape. I moved from advertising to information technologies in ’96. We all moved from Tulsa to the Florida gulf coast in ’01. Since then, we’ve graduated both daughters from college (!) and survived a couple of hurricanes. We’re still very active with our local UU fellowship (delighted to find one here) and we work just about all the time (except for the few hours we fritter away sleeping some nights). Patti has a new private practice here and is also working as a victim advocate at Eglin AF Base. I’m an IT tech for a resort management company, which means I get to see the occasional sunset on the Gulf of Mexico. I found a cool coffee house gig when we first arrived, but the place folded after 6 months. Most of the paying gigs in the area involve playing ‘Margaritaville’ to tourists, so I play little events here and there… and the living room every night. I don’t go a day without picking up my guitar. I still have the ’64 Hummingbird, but I recently added a little Taylor and a Tak 12-string.  Patti and the girls gave me “To Tulsa and Back – On Tour with JJ Cale†on DVD for Christmas and I’ve really been missing the old days, so I’m very grateful to you all, for coming up with this idea, and for being willing to travel back to Oklahoma one more time!   We are both really looking forward to seeing you guys! Take care ‘til then! Dave AbrahamDave-tek@cox.net2611 Edgewater Dr.Niceville, FL 32578850-217-8481
I, Margy Golden married Scott Aycock in 1979. We both worked with juvenile delinquents for several years before having 2 of our own. Actually the teenage years were a breeze for us. Our kids were ( and are ) amazing people. Both musicians, singer/songwriters ( like their dad ) and artistic ( like me ) and peace loving folks like all of us. Scott went on to become a marriage and family counselor/life coach, folk salad radio show co host on the local NPR station for 8 years http://folksalad.com/ and has won several awards in both songwriting and poetry over the last few years and is working on his 2nd CD right now. I became a painter and have several artsy jobs including working with the Arts and Humanities Council’s Artists in the Schools Program, Artist in Residence at the Hillcrest’s Arts in Healing Program, Adult Oil painting teacher at TCC and private lessons for adults at Zieglers. I have also been working to effect legislation that will protect Oklahoma’s musicians from 2nd hand smoke… http://oksmokefree.blogspot.com/. I also sell my work on line. After an East coast gallery absconded with 6 of my oil paintings I decided it best to keep them in the hands of someone I could trust….
